Self Love: The Key To Happiness and Success

By Ann Rusnak Leave a Comment

Self LoveThe missing key to bringing you true happiness is found in self love. Self love is the requirement to building your success foundation.

Many of our goals and pursuits in life focus on finding happiness and success outside of ourselves. If you just get that raise…just loose those 10lbs…just move to another city…just acquire that car…you’ll be happy.

Happiness comes from within. Nothing wrong with getting a raise, losing weight, living your dream city or driving your dream car. They don’t produce lasting happiness.

Seeing the good in yourself, your inner greatness…your Magical Essence starts with loving yourself. When you love yourself, you see the good all around you. You enjoy the results of your achievements.

Positive affirmations provide a great way to begin a wonderful love affair with yourself.

Watch this short Self Love affirmation video.

Use these affirmation as a beginning to create your own list of self love affirmations.

Self Love Connection To Self Belief

By Ann Rusnak Leave a Comment

You must believe in yourself in order for anyone else to believe in you.

Self Love Self Belief

Millions of individuals fail to live the life they always wish to live. They often give up on their big dreams and ambitions the moment they encounter their first obstacle.

Two big reason why people give up when obstacles come across their dream path:

1. The goal/dream didn’t really generate from their heart… in other words it wasn’t a true hearts desire. A true hearts desire/goal/dream invokes passion and makes you unstoppable unless…

2. You deny your hearts desire because you don’t believe you deserve it or can accomplish it. You don’t believe in yourself and your abilities.

People who believe in themselves know deep inside they can accomplish what ever they put their mind to doing.

Not believing in yourself signals a lack of self love. You need to love yourself first or it makes it hard to believe in yourself.

What is Self Love?

The dictionary defines it: The instinct or desire to promote one’s own well-being; regard for or love of one’s self.

Self love emanates a strong sense of respect for and confidence in oneself. Self love gives you the power to overcome the doubts about your own worthiness for success. Self-love gives you the ability to connect with your dreams. You then support yourself with encouraging thoughts and empowering actions.

When you love yourself, you accept yourself unconditionally. You believe in your own abilities, even if other people rally against you. Rarely does one succeeds without experiencing individuals resisting their ideas at one point or another

Self Love Protects You Against Your Critics

Generally, when you choose to pursue your hearts desire, you’ll find people will put you down. Especially if they failed to do something or gave up on their own dreams. These put downs often generate from your own family and friends.

Self love leads to a strong belief in yourself . This belief allows you to move forward even under the pressure of criticism.  You will start to question our own abilities and give up your dreams when you don’t believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself you’ll wind up discarding yourideas.

Those empowered with self belief will continue to pursue their hearts desire no matter what. They will enjoy the glory of success because they learned to love themselves.

Begin Your Success Journey With Self Love

Start loving yourself by beginning to see the wonder of you… your Magical Essence.

You must first remove the distorted image of yourself. These resources can give you a good start.

The Power Of Gratitude Toward Emotional Healing

By Ann Rusnak Leave a Comment
Power of Gratitude

Emotional Healing begins with Gratitude and Thanksgiving.

I know when you hurt inside, it’s hard to feel grateful… but it’s even harder to maintain negative thoughts with genuine gratitude in your heart.

My closest and dearest friend shared some advice while our family seemed plunged into chaos a few years ago. One thing kept happening after another.

She said to give thanks not just when thing go great but to give thanks for the problems in your life too.

I thought she was nuts and said "Are you crazy? won’t that attract more problems?"

I took her advice with skepticism. Actually, the opposite happened. Instead of more problems, solutions for the current ones showed up.

Giving thanks not only produces new ideas and solutions and increased your personal power to solve problems, it also provides the means that personal desires and dream can be fulfilled.

Gratitude Attracts Good To You

The results got me hooked on the power of gratitude and thanks.

In Robert Russell’s book, God Works Through You*, he writes "Gratitude becomes a magnet for Good by establishing a positive state of mind within yourself, nothing can keep your Good from finding you. Help comes to you through your positive state of mind and through your attitude of praise and thanksgiving."

15 Things to Be Remembered About Gratitude

excerpt from God Works Through You*

1. The ultimate goal of all spiritual practice is to be so fully conscious of God’s Presence that you are unconscious of anything unlike God.

2. Since God is the Source of all supply and the giver of every good and perfect gift, the closer you live to God the more spiritual benefits you will share.

3. The best method living close to God is the practice of whole-soul gratitude. The mind that is always grateful never knows need.

4. If you are grateful for the good things you have now, you keep your mind open to receive Good. When you are truly grateful for everything, you constantly receive more of everything.

5. A consistent attitude of thanksgiving brings the mind of man and the Mind of God into perfect reciprocal action

6. The grateful mind is a powerful mind. It always accomplishes everything it sets out to do. It is tireless, buoyant, joyous, alive.

7. The thankful mind is always positive to the good. It looks for the best and so brings the best out of everything. Seeing only the good, it causes everything to produce good.

8. The grateful soul is cumulative. The practice of thanksgiving keeps the mind in the ascending tendency. The higher the mind goes, the greater is its possessions. The more grateful it is, the more power it has.

9. The thankful soul lives in the NOW and expects everything in the present. It doesn’t live in the future.

10. In love is love reflected. The grateful person sees the best in everything, expects the best of everyone, finds something good in every situation, and consequently draws friends, opportunities and supply toward him.

11. The grateful soul is always a satisfied soul. Drawing it Substance and Life from within, it is always complete.

12. The thankful soul is a productive soul. Living close the Source, it not only attracts more but produces more in every sphere of activity.

13. The grateful soul is a regenerative soul. In the consciousness of real gratitude, a healing force is always at work counteracting negative conditions.

14. The grateful soul is a balanced soul. In whole-soul gratitude, supply and demand are always equal.

15. The grateful soul is joyous.

The moment the emotion of gratitude touches you, your spirit lightens, your burden grows less and your smile comes more readily.

You Too Can Be Prosperous

*Robert A. Russell’s God Works Through You is now out of print and maybe difficult to find. His book "You Too Can Be Prosperous" is still available. Chapter 4 – The Magic Box goes into the Law of Increasing and gratitude.

Can Emotional Abuse be worse than Physical Abuse?

By Ann Rusnak Leave a Comment

Can Emotional Abuse be worse than Physical Abuse?
by Chanel Williams and Ann Rusnak

Emotiona Abuse

Yes and No. Physical abuse and Emotional abuse are interlinked. Non physical and physical abuse can lead to psychological trauma that can have a lasting effect on an individual.

However this being that physical abuse can leave an actually physical mark or material proof that it has happened. Support for physical abuse is more readily available and can be readily identified. Whereas emotional abuse has the same psychological trauma as any form of abuse but is harder to identify and treat.

There is a misconception of what to readily identify in others who have suffered some form of abuse other than physical, but the results can last a lifetime. Emotional abuse is defined as behaviors that deal with a person’s mental health and social development.

These behaviors can be verbal abuse, belittling, tearing down self esteem, withholding affection, being highly critical, and purposely damaging and distorting a person’s sense of self. There effects whether done in childhood or adulthood have a lasting effect in a person like.

The effects that result from physiological/emotional abuse is feelings of worthlessness, no sense of safety in their surroundings, distorted sense of trust, depression, suicide, anxiety, dissociation, posttraumatic stress disorder, and anger.

Abuse is any behavior that is designed to control and subjugate another human being through the use of fear, humiliation, intimidation, guilt, coercion, manipulation etc.

Emotional abuse is any kind of abuse that is emotional rather than physical in nature. It can include anything from verbal abuse and constant criticism to more subtle tactics, such as repeated disapproval or even the refusal to ever be pleased.

Emotional Abuse – Brain Washing Effect

Emotional abuse is like brain washing in that it systematically wears away at the victim’s self-confidence, sense of self-worth, trust in their own perceptions, and self-concept. Whether it is done by constant berating and belittling, by intimidation, or under the guise of "guidance," "teaching", or "advice," the results are similar. Eventually, the recipient of the abuse loses all sense of self and remnants of personal value.

Beverly Engel, MFCC writes in her book The Emotionally Abused Woman… "Emotional abuse cuts to the very core of a person, creating scars that may be far deeper and more lasting that physical ones. In fact there is research to this effect. With emotional abuse, the insults, insinuations, criticism and accusations slowly eat away at the victim’s self-esteem until she is incapable of judging the situation realistically. She has become so beaten down emotionally that she blames herself for the abuse. Her self-esteem is so low that she clings to the abuser.

Emotional abuse victims can become so convinced that they are worthless that they believe that no one else could want them. They stay in abusive situations because they believe they have nowhere else to go. Their ultimate fear is being all alone."

However there are connections of there being a stronger impact when emotional abuse when coupled with another form of abuse in which the effects of the abuse are greater. However there is not enough research to readily identify these factors UNLESS coupled with other forms of abuse.

Society’s acknowledgement of emotional abuse is limited because of

1) societal expectations of how emotional abuse should be. – need to be a criminal deviant before it’s acknowledge

2.) There is a misconception on the long term effects that emotional abuse can have because of different perspectives of what defines emotional abuse in general.

Emotional abuse is almost always present when other forms are identified but emotional abuse can occur with little or no other abuse.

Verbal Abuse Can Be Worse Than Physical

CNN interviews Dr. Phil in response to a teenager who killed herself after sever mental abuse from classmate.

"…What we know psychologically is that psychological injuries, verbal abuse, mental, emotional abuse can have a much more devastating effect on someone than physical abuse. Physical injures heal and you can move on…"

Remember any type of abuse is wrong and shouldn’t be tolerated.

Inspirational Sayings | A Penny

By Ann Rusnak Leave a Comment

A Penny

   Author Unknown

Wealthly Lifestyle

Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband’s employer’s home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house.

The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband’s employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.

As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband.

He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment. Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts.

In God We Trust Penny

Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny. He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up? Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her.

Finally, she could stand it no longer. She causally mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.

A smile crept across the man’s face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?

"Look at it." He said. "Read what it says."

She read the words "United States of America."

"No, not that; read further."

"One cent?"

"No, keep reading."

"In God we Trust?"

"Yes!"

"And?"

"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God’s way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!

Plenty of Pennies

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change.

I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the message. It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful!
And, God is patient…

Have a blessed day!!
