Do Your Thoughts Create A Groundhog Day Experience For You?

Groundhog Day

Hard to believe the movie "Groundhog Day" will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. I just love this movie.

The premise of the movie focuses on an arrogant, egotistical, self center weather man named Phil. He feels it’s beneath him to cover Groundhog Day for the 3rd year in a row. He puts no effort or enthusiasm in covering the story and can’t wait to get out of Punxsutawney.  A blizzard leaves him stranded and he must stay overnight. The next morning he wakes up in horror to discover it ground hog day all over again.

He keeps reliving this day over and over and over again while seeing the same people do the same thing EVERY day.

Does Your Life Feel Like You Experience Your Own Groundhog Day?

By now most New Years resolutions, promises and intentions are out the door. Life just seems to grab you and keep you in the same place. When this year ends, many of us will find ourselves pretty much in the same place with very little change.

At first our weather man Phil, played by Bill Murray, comes to realize he is going nowhere and decides to take advantage of the town people for his amusement and entertainment.  After all, he does know what they will all do.

The antics eventually become boring and drives Phil to the brink of depression. He remains stuck here and nothing seems to change no matter what he does. Every morning he wakes up to experience the same day again.

He decides suicide looks like the way to escape. However, after every attempt, he wakes up to hear the same Sonny & Cher song blaring through the clock radio alarm. (warning: do not attempt suicide, can prove fatal. All suicide attempts in the movie were done with professionals and a Hollywood script bringing him back to life)

Our weatherman finally resigns to his fate and accepts the fact he will wake up every morning to relive groundhog day. He changes his mindset and thoughts.

He decides to make the best of his situation. The day isn’t going to change. The people and what they do won’t change. He begins to change himself, the only thing that can change.  He starts with an attitude change. He changes his thoughts. He changes his belief system about this "hick" town and the people living in it.  He evolves into a better person.

(movie spoiler ahead)

Near the end of the movie, He feels happy and full of confidence while enjoying the town festivities. The town honors him, he’s made many friends, improved other people’s lives, becomes an accomplished pianist and ends up with the love of the new producer Rita.

Yes, a new day does finally dawn for him.

What About You?

Often our thoughts and belief systems keep creating the same outcome over and over again that it can feel like groundhog day. Nothing seems to change.

Tonight when you go to bed will you wake up to your own groundhog day again ?

Today, just like in the movie, groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow thus predicting six more weeks of winter. No early spring.

Why not take the next six weeks to change one habit, replace one thing in your belief system or change one thought. Make the best of your current situation knowing you possess the power to alter it’s outcome.

Inspirational Saying | Promise Yourself

Choice gives every person the opportunity to change what they don’t want or like in their life. You can choose how you want to react to a situation. You can choice to change your attitudes and your belief systems.

Choice empowers you to live the life you really want to live. One choice can make all the difference… The poem Promise yourself is filled with life enhancing choices.

Promise Yourself was authored in 1912 by Chistian D. Larson, appearing in his bookYour Forces and How to Use Them. Many have found inspiration in this poem. In hospitals, it has been used to help patients recover from illness. In locker rooms, coaches have used it to motivate their players.

Mind Power Secrets | The Law of Repetition

Have you heard the old saying, "a lie repeated often enough becomes the truth?" This happens because repetition is the secret to developing a powerful belief.

And the more powerful your belief, the more powerful your results will be… negative or positive.

All changes in your beliefs, especially limiting beliefs, take place upon the application of the law of repetition.

The Law Of Repetition and How Your Minds Works

How often do you tell yourself and try to convince yourself that you can accept change? Only later to find youself readily get stuck in past memories, frameworks, and schemas?

Until you make the changes at the subconscious level, those changes will not stay in place. Your deep subconscious is the very place where change happens. You’ll find a full article on the here: Power of Your Subconscious Mind

When you have a better understanding of the brain’s inner workings, the subconscious, you stand a better chance to develop a skill set or change a belief system that can enable you to make lasting changes in your brain.

Like a person finding a well worn path through a meadow, each thought, feeling, and behavior is associated with a path through your brain.

Would you choose to take the established path or would plow through the field to create a new one? Most people would choose the path already there… it’s much easier and less work. 

Your brain does the same thing. It is more likely to engage in familiar patterns rather than try new ones. The flow of energy through the brain tends to go through established paths and circuits, which is partly makes our minds appear stable and predictable.

Throughout your life, your brain will always find it easier – but not unavoidable – to go back to these earliest patterns of operating in the world.

Your experiences shape how your brain will grow. Therefore, any plan you want to follow to be happier, successful and more fulfilling, must also address the pathways in your brain in order to have lasting success.

How To Rewire Your Brain For Lasting Success

Repetition will input habits in the nerve cells in you brain, This consequently governs your thoughts and behavior. That well-worn path in the meadow happened by people repeatedly walking it.

The reason why repetition on positive thoughts is so powerful, and necessary, is that we live in a world where thoughts and images of lack and limitation are everywhere.

It requires discipline of repetition to change your deepest thoughts and beliefs about the nature of the world — and that is exactly what you must do in order to change your limiting beliefs that hold your back.

Repetition can be a powerful tool for learning and acquiring skill sets too. There is a kind of strength achieved through the power of repeating oneself. Repetition, repetition, repetition. It works. It works. It works.

Daily Repetition Can Develop A New Habit To Change Paradigms.

A paradigm is our perception of reality, our view of the world. It is our interpretation of events based on previous teaching we have received. Those teaching and experiences shape your belief system.

Paradigms controls your lives. Think of paradigms as a multitude of habits.  Those habits formed through repetition.

We can ultimately break down old paradigms holding you back through a desire to change.

One Tiny Step Repeated Result In Big Changes

The key is to change these habits of limiting beliefs one at a time to allow the flow of what you want to enter your life.

Consistency is very important in using the Law of Repetition. Changes will happen through daily increases of awareness, time and patience.

Repeating a set of effective affirmations three times each day will begin to create a new path in your brain. Just pick one belief… one habit you want for a new path.

Habits are made and broken in a span of 21 to 30 days as a rule. Repetition for that length of time can greatly increase the odds of making permanent change

Remember that your paradigms can be changed and you can do it a little bit each day through repetition.

Your Personal Declaration of Empowerment

Yesterday I invited to declare your independence from limiting beliefs

You  have the capacity to be extraordinary, to live your passion, to realize your full potential.  

What determines the life you experience is how you see, feel and think about yourself.

What holds you back are limiting beliefs running through your minds.

Today you’ll create your Declaration of Independence from limiting beliefs.  You’ll put together your Declaration of Empowerment over those beliefs and begin to start your own personal revolution for the life you truly desire and deserve.

The Declaration of Independence starts with these words…

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

You too can dissolve the hold of limiting beliefs have on you.

You are made in the image of the creator of the universe (I like to use God… use whatever make you feel comfortable.)  You were placed on the world to play BIG. You have God-given abilities to achieve what you desire and imagine.

Exploring Your Limiting Beliefs

What are some of your limiting beliefs? What purpose do those beliefs share in your life?

Many of mine dealt with self acceptance and money.  One of my first declarations was for acceptance of myself.

You’ll want to write down 3 or 4 limiting beliefs that you believe are contributing to your problem and/or keeping you from achieving your desired results.

How can you turn those limiting beliefs around?

Maybe you see yourself as worthless.  You may want to include something like this in your Declaration of Empowerment:

I (your name)  choose to see my worth.  I am worthy of seeing myself as a wonderful person, a great person who experiences life to the fullest. I see my self worth in my work. I express this in the way I carry myself, in my posture, my tone and the way I talk and write.

I am the center of my universe! I have the power to create whatever I wish.

I am a Child of God. He loves me and helps me all the time. I am safe and protected at all times. The Universe continually guides me.

How do you want to feel and start your day?

This is how I begin my Declaration:

I, Ann Rusnak, feel on top of the world. I feel alive bursting with confidence and excitement. I feel great joy and at peace with myself. I’m so happy and grateful for all I have.

Dealing with money issues?

Catherine Ponder include many wonder statements in her book The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity.

"I am the rich child of a loving father. I now accept and claim his rich good for me in every phase of my life. My own God-given success in the form of rich ideas and rich results now appears."

"I use the positive power of God’s rich substance in wisdom, love and good judgment in all my financial affairs, and I am prospered in all my ways."

"I am a child of the living God, therefore I am one with his wisdom. That wisdom now leads me in paths of righteousness, peace and true success."

This is a rich, friendly Universe and I dare to accept its riches, its hospitality, and to enjoy them now."

Any one of these or a combination of them are quite acceptable for new money beliefs.

Your Declaration of Empowerment is a statement you decide to believe about yourself and your life.

Putting It Together

Using the above statements, I’ll put together a sample declaration.

I, (your name), feel great and energized. I feel alive bursting with confidence and excitement. I feel great joy and at peace with myself. I’m so happy and grateful for all I have.

I am the rich child of a loving father. He loves me and helps me all the times. I now accept and claim his rich good for me in every phase of my life.

I am one with universal wisdom. That wisdom now leads me in paths of righteousness, peace and true success.

I am the center of my universe! I have the power to create whatever I wish. My own God-given success in the form of rich ideas and rich results now appears."

Nothing but good can come into my life, for God is in charge. I give thanks for the immediate, complete, divine fulfillment of these desires. This or something better comes forth with perfect timing, according to God’s rich good for me.

Your Empowering declaration is for your eyes only! Read it in the morning when you wake up and right before you go to bed.

I also found that writing out my declaration once a day for 30 days made the statement become a part of me much fast.

[Money Mindset Challenge] Day 8 – Making Room for Money

Congratulations! You’re a third of the way through the money mindset challenge. Give yourself a big hand but don’t stop now.

Your money monster (old money beliefs) will "sneakily" come back into your life if you’re not aware of his stealthy tactics.

Over the next seven days, we’ll be tending and nurturing the "garden" of your subconscious mind. This will give the new money belief "seeds" you planted a good strong root system.

Let’s start Day 8 with the first of our deterrent strategies to keep your money monster at bay.

Make Room For Money

First strategy is making room for money. This is one of several on the "Create A New Relationship With Money" audio.

Morgana said clear out the stuff getting in the way. Clear out the mental and physical clutter that block you from receiving.

If you go back to Day’s 3 & 4, I talked about cleaning out "physical" barriers blocking money from coming in. I walked you through the steps I took in getting rid of that clutter and getting my finances organized.

This was one of the first things I needed to do to find out where we stood financially.

Where Are Your Money Blocks

Grab a piece of paper and answer the questions below:

What clutter is keeping money out of your life? Look around your office…your home… your closets

Do you have unfinished projects?

What things do you hold onto that could use replacing?

I held onto clothes that really needed replacing. I started looking like an orphan.

I kept justifying this behavior with some false beliefs.

I said things like "I can’t get rid of these, everything is in polyester. If I through them out, I won’t have anything to wear." (I’m allergic to polyester) We can’t afford new clothes and my favorite… When I loose weight. Every excuse I could think of. Finally I said enough is enough. Is this how I show self love? I wasn’t caring for myself.

This behavior showed money I didn’t trust him to show up to buy new clothes. Not a good way to start a relationship.

So I decided to throw out everything stained and falling apart. Which was pretty much everything.

Suddenly catalogs arrived with clothes made of cotton, wool and silk. More importantly Money showed up too. I could replace everything I threw out with new clothing.

Trust is one of the four key ingredients for a healthy relationship… I’ll talk more on this  tomorrow.

Don’t try to declutter everything at once. Trust your money honey to guide you on where to start. Ask him what do you need to do make room for money.
