The people who raised you, either your parents or somebody else, remain the most important impact in your life. They exert the strongest influence on how you feel about yourself.
The most important task of a parent is to make sure your child grows up with a strong self esteem.
Strong self esteem arms your child against drugs, alcohol, unhealthy relationships, and delinquency. Your child stands a better chance of experiencing and happy and successful adult life.
Affirmations are a wonderful way to reinforce your child’s (and your) strengths.
Somebody shared this video on Google Plus and I couldn’t help but smile and feel good. This was something I did with my daughter several time a week. She stood in front of the mirror saying her positive affirmations.
When I was building up my self esteem, I began doing the same thing my daughter did… sing praises about my assets and strengths, recite positive affirmation in front of the mirror. It felt weird and uncomfortable… I even cried when I looked myself in the eye saying my affirmations. You’re never to old to start your day off like Jennifer.
