Every so often somebody will come into your life that will make a profound difference. For me that person is DeLores Pressley
My attempt to share this in facebook didn’t work… I guess the Universe wants it here and you don’t mess around with the Universe.
A year can make a big difference.
15 years ago on Oct 14, I wrote out a Personal Mission statement to guide my life. This is one sections on this statement…"I encourage others to believe in themselves and that they are worthy of their dreams and goals. Where I am I will create an atmosphere of safety and unconditional acceptance. Where they are comfortable to be themselves and feel better about themselves."
Three years ago I closed my business because I was so unhappy… I wasn’t following this inner voice. God gave me this wonderful gift of just devoting time to own and feel comfortable with my true self. All our financial got met plus some. It was the final growth I needed to step into the person to fulfill that mission.
Last Oct, A friend of mine, Irene Hatziantoniou, invited me attend a lunch where DeLores spoke. She talked about this UP Woman event happening in Nov. I signed up not knowing this was her launch event.
I was experiencing all this doubt about starting a new business… to live that mission. I kept thinking maybe I was too late… maybe I should have done this year ago when I was younger. I felt like I was too late in the game.
DeLores got up and spoke and shared how this event marked the beginning of a dream she had 20 years ago. That event became a big turning point and reassured me… hell my vision was only 14 years old… I got an extra 6 years over DeLores. The Up Woman event featured several very successful and empowering woman speakers. All right from my own backyard of Cleveland OH. I didn’t know we had such awesome woman in the area.
I needed to hear DeLores’s message. I left the event in tears… feeling renewed. Yes I can do this… I just followed my heart and voice… just let go and trust God. DeLores became a role model, a mentor and most importantly a friend. Her vision of up lifting woman is awesome. She certainly uplifted me.
April of this year my inner voice said… launch your business. I did. With no business plan, no marketing plan, no products, no idea who I would sell to… I just trusted that God would bring the people in my life to continue to move forward. He did… I’ve built a small list, got my marketing message (still needs some tweaking) even developed a product that sold, got my book outlined…
I really didn’t think I got much accomplished this past year until I began to reflect on the UP Woman Anniversary and remembered how I was at that first event.
There will be people only you can unlock… if you don’t share your message, those who needed it miss it.
DeLores was that person who unlocked me. I am so grateful that God placed her in my life.
