Psychologists say there is tremendous power in Self-Confidence. Which is why you’ll find very successful people abundant with self-confidence. High self-confidence will allow you to live a successful life on your terms.
This is one of the most important skills you can develop if you really want to achieve everything you set out to do. Do you consider yourself to be a confident person?
What is Self Confidence?
Simply put… It’s the belief and trust you have in your abilities, qualities, and judgment.
Self-confidence positively recharges your mind. It’s contagious, it’s impelling, it’s persuasive and it attracts others.
Your self-confidence level comes from a reflection of your self-esteem. They both work together. You’ll experience more fulfilling success, feel happier in general, and happier with yourself if you can cultivate both qualities.
Self-confidence positively recharges your mindOg Mandino says:
“A high self-esteem is a universal common denominator of excellence. It’s a releasing mechanism that allows your potential to flow easily and freely.”
Your level of self-esteem reflects the perception of your belief about your own value and worth as a person. Unless you perceive your own true worth as a person, you cannot come close to achieving total self-confidence.
Your belief about your value, talent, and skills began to develop in the early years of your life. Your present level of self-esteem equals the cumulative result of the positive and negative messages, your thoughts and feelings deposited in your mind since you were born. You’ve been conditioned since childhood by false concepts, values and beliefs that prevent you from realizing how truly capable and unique you truly are.
You come into this world with a high sense of worth, value and unlimited potential Today you may find it hard to believe this about yourself. A great place to see self-worth in action is to watch the actions and reactions of most children before they become programmed with fear, phobia and limited beliefs. They are fearless.
Children are confidently fearless before they become programmed with fear, phobia and limited beliefsIt is vitally important for every person to literally claim their self-confidence in every area of life where it is required. This means that if you have a big goal you are shooting for, realize that your main path to achieving that goal lies directly in the amount of confidence you have in yourself to actually attain it.
Boost Your Self-Confidence by Reprogramming Your Subconscious
One of my favorite quotes comes from the eminent philosopher and psychologist William James: “The greatest discovery of our age has been that we by changing the inner aspects of our thinking can change the outer aspects of our lives”
WOW! that is powerful. All you need to do is change your thoughts.
One method to reprogram your subconscious to increase your self-confidence comes from using effective affirmations.
While recovering from the memories of childhood abuse, one of the tools my therapist gave to me to rebuild my confidence came from writing positive affirmations.
Using positive affirmations can be an effective way to transform any negative beliefs and self-talk into positive beliefs. You’ll discover they can be one of your strongest confidence builders.
Your confidence will develop and strengthen over time through your actions. Often fear, doubt, and negative self-talk will stop you from using your talents and gifts. Positive affirmations give you the ability to overcome the fears and doubts needed to take action to create the life you desire.
