Note: I use the word God in this article… you can use Higher Power, Yahweh, Universe, substitute whatever you feel reaches and connects with you.
Someone shared this quote with me, and it struck a chord in my heart. I so wanted to believe it. “You are the perfection of God’s creation and the creation of God’s perfection.” That alone makes me a worthy person. I remember cringing when I first heard the words: “I am a person of worth. I am a worthy person.”
What about you? How did you feel when you read those words?
Guess what? Being a creation of God makes you a worthy person too. He also created you successful.
Soothing Thoughts: The more you hurt inside, the more you feel worthless, you may feel some pain doing the actions in this series. It’s okay to acknowledge it… don’t deny it yet don’t wallow in it.
You come into this world with self-worth. As a creation of God (Universe), you are a person of worth, which cannot be taken from you. Let me repeat that… No one can take your worth away from you.
Self-worth comes from your inner Self. Your worth doesn’t come from others. Your self-esteem, self-love, and self-confidence come from you. It’s not called Other worth but Self Worth.
It’s always there but you may not see it, feel it or acknowledge it. You may even forget about your worthiness. It could be hidden under layers of false beliefs and false messages. Buried under years of negative crud but your worth is still there… waiting for your awareness.
Think of your self worth like a treasure chest. The treasure chest is worth something… even an empty treasure chest is worth something.
Even if the chest is battered and weather-worn… it’s still worth something. Just because the chest exists, it’s worth something. It is not worthless.
Let’s take it a step further… Suppose somebody smashes the treasure chest and breaks it into little pieces. The pieces of wood are still worth something. Just because those little smashed pieces exist.
Those shattered pieces may represent your pain, hurt, your inner beauty and your uniqueness.
Feelings of unworthiness and inferiority get their beginnings very early in your life. They take root during the time your brain receives crucial and permanent impressions through negative programming.
Feelings of unworthiness and inferiority get their beginnings very early in your life.It begins with a misinterpretation when someone said you’re a bad girl or bad boy. When in reality it was your actions that didn’t meet their approval… not you as a person. Unless someone points out this difference you begin to identify you with your actions.
What Matters Most is How YOU See Yourself
How do you start seeing your self-worth? You need to unlink your actions from your true essence… Your True ME… Your Magical Essence™
It is important and critical you recognize your innate worth. Your ultimate happiness and sense of well-being virtually depend upon it. Understand when you recognize your innate worth, you’ll to strive to fulfill your potential.
Believe in your Self Worth…
You are a Magnificent Expression of God’s creation. It’s important to separate what you have and do from your core self so you can experience your magnificence.
You Are Not Your Actions
I’m a big movie buff… love watching movies. The movie “28 Days” features Sandra Bullock (Gwen) and Viggo Mortensen(Eddie) in a rehab/treatment center. I love this movie while my husband hates it.
Gwen and Eddie develop a friendship at the center. Part of their treatment requires doing chores around the facility. One day while cleaning out the horse stalls, Eddie starts sharing some of the terrible things he did while on drugs.
He asks Gwen to share some of her stories. She flatly refuses and makes excuses that drunks don’t remember what they do. The last thing Gwen wants is to drudge up the last 15 years of her life so she can humiliate herself.
They end up arguing with Gwen insulting Eddie.
Later she seeks out Eddie to apologize to him. She tells him she didn’t want to share because she felt if he knew what horrible things she did, he wouldn’t want to remain friends. She viewed herself as a drunk disgusting person.
She shares a few stories and tells him she knows how the world perceives someone who screws up. People don’t like screwed up drunks. Gwen’s opinion of herself is unworthy and disgusting.
Eddie replies to her:
“Those are just things you’ve done not who you are. People make mistakes. Who you are is just fine, more than fine.”
Let me repeat those words… “Those are just things you’ve done not who you are. People make mistakes. Who you are is just fine, more than fine.”
Growing up I heard you’re a bad girl, horrible baby, rotten person and the list goes on and on. To the point where I identified myself with my actions.
Of course, I became my own worse abuser by repeating and playing those lies over and over again. This action created false and distorted messages about myself.
This is why it is important and critical for you to recognize your innate worth. Your treasure chest, just like mine was, maybe buried under years of false messages and negative programming.
Transform Your Life by Transforming Your Thoughts
You begin to uncover your treasure through the repetition of positive messages. Replacing those self-imposed limiting beliefs with positive messages.
If you want to change your reality, you must change your consistent thoughts. If you keep thinking about what you have been thinking, you will keep getting what you have been getting.
Yesterday’s thoughts created your belief system, your present, and today’s thoughts are creating your future.
If you would like to have a better life free from worry and fear, the best way to achieve the better life you desire is to change your consistent thoughts. When you change your world, you’ll experience more success, more fulfillment and live up to the potential you were born to achieve.
IMPORTANT ACTION: Write the words “You are the perfection of God’s creation and the creation of God’s perfection. That alone makes you a worthy person. God created you successful” on an index card and carry it with you…
Display that card where you can see it.
You don’t come into this world with an empty treasure chest. Everything you need to experience the success and happiness you crave, God put in your inner treasure chest.
We’ll explore the contents inside your treasure chest in the next article.
