This year marks the nine year anniversary of 9/11 attacks. I came across this video on the Dog files site. Wonderful tribute to some little known heroes of 9/11. Be sure to grab a box of Kleenex before you watch
Certain days will always reverberate through history and generate the question were you when…
Up until 9 years ago, for me it was where were you when Kennedy was shot… I was 10 years old and till remember what I was and what I was doing…
Nine years ago on September 11, our family was enjoying our "routine" vacation time. We woke up to a sunny day on the North Carolina Outer Banks. With riptide warnings and a slightly sunburned daughter, we made plans for the day over breakfast. Allyce needed to stay out of the sun so we opted to spend the day sight seeing the lighthouses.
Mike and head down the beach to take a walk while Allyce did the homework she brought with her. The beach was eerily quiet. Hardly anybody was around. We thought it strange. Riptide warnings keep people out of the ocean… not off the beach.
As we walked back up to the house we rented, Allyce came out at the top of the landing, screaming we’re being attacked. We both thought she was joking but Mike ran up to the house and at the top of the stairs shouted "Ann get up here fast." We both stood there in the doorway in horror as we watched the scenes replay on the news channel.
9/11 is one of those day seared into your memories forever… you’ll never forget what you were doing when you heard the news.
